Safety Equipment:
World Taekwondo Federation involves sparring against an opponent, as in the Olympics. As each student develops their skills in Taekwondo they will learn and practice the skills needed in the competitive sport side of the art. Students will not train in any contact sparring till they have been awarded their yellow belt (8th Kup) To conform with the British Taekwondo Control Board’s Health & Safety policies and to conform to insurance requirements, each student must have full safety equipment, while taking part in any contact training or competitions. Each student will require a gum shield, head, body, arm, shin and groin protectors. Full safety equipment must be worn when taking part in any WTF sparring. All the above equipment is available to buy from the club at fair prices, but we advise that gum shields are purchased from your own dentist, especially if the student wishes to enter into sparring competitions.
